Supporting events and some of the prestigious football matches are taking place right here in Wales. (More information on local activity will be added here as it becomes available. Check back often.)

There are three types of Olympic event you can see LIVE while based here in Monmouthshire ( and of course our numerous flatscreen TVs in the cottages will show you the events taking place in London as well!)

THE WELCOME OF THE OLYMPIC TORCH
The torch will enter Wales at Monmouth , the Gateway to Wales. Monmouth will be the first town in Wales to greet the torch relay and it is understood that it will also pass through Raglan, Abergavenny, Brynmawr, Blaenavon, Abersychan, Pontypool and Newport on its route on Friday May 25. It will also visit Caerphilly on Saturday May 26. Exact times have yet to be formalised but the exact street route is now published. Monmouth Raglan and Abergavenny are just a few minutes from our cottages and there will be crowds to see deserving local people carry the torch . An historic moment! Bring your cameras!

THE OLYMPIC FOOTBALL MATCHES IN THE MILLENNIUM CENTRE CARDIFF
This is your opportunity to go and see an Olympic event in the amazing Millennium Stadium Cardiff.
You can drive into Cardiff in well under an hour from each of our cottages or you can take a train
from Abergavenny ( Vanilla Cottage)
or from Chepstow ( Foxes Reach or Tintern Abbey Cottages) to Cardiff Central Station.
Fantastic Opportunity to combine a momentous world event with a family holiday!
We expect the matches to start on 25 July, with GB men expected to play on 1st August and the Bronze medal match to take place on 10 August.
