The weathergods have been kind on the first and last days of our vacation here in Usk and how beautiful it was even when it was raining! A lovely cottage with great attention to detail and welcoming indeed.I so enjoyed the many songbirds and the neighbours chickens. We enjoyed several restaurants from your suggested list. The Newbridge was an excellent location and very good food. The Hardwick also very good. The Foxhunter delicious and an especially good deal for the set lunch.The Black Bear a charming pub with good food where we met some locals and the welcoming landlady Ruth. The first night we enjoyed music at Usk Castle- a magical place. A little adventure on the Monmouth to Brecon canal experiencing beautiful countryside rounded off our week. All in all a great time!
